I love when the weather turns just a little to the cooler side and the sun goes down a little quicker. After a summer of fighting hot days in black suits, it really comes as a nice break. That’s probably why September and October are such crazy months for weddings. They book up early, that’s for sure. It’s just a beautiful time for a wedding. We had the honor of shooting Alison and Jamie’s wedding this past weekend at Elmhurst Country Club. It’s a great setting made better by a great, fun couple. After a quick ceremony, we darted out for a handful of portraits before the party began. There was really nice sunlight falling through the trees. For anyone who has tried to take photos in that light it can be gorgeous but also pretty spotty. The trick is be very careful if you turn them into the light so you don’t get fractured light on them – or if you do – use it properly to evenly light the face. The other option is to turn them away from the sun and shoot in a way to give the photos a soft and warm glow. It can be a great effect for wedding portraits. Just be careful not to over use it.
So here are some of the shots we got. Thanks again to Alison and Jamie. We had a great time with you guys and congrats on a beautiful wedding day.
