Ellen and John engagement at Ricketts Glen State Park

Hi all. A slightly belated Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Sorry I missed a post earlier this week. If you read my previous  post you know I had my tonsils removed and was bragging about how easy the recovery was. Check that. A day after the post I hit a wall of pain head on and couldn’t get to the Monday blog. My apologies.

As I’m writing this, there is a show on Ovation that is a two-hour profile of famed photographer Annie Liebovitz. Her eye for photography and access to bands like the Rolling Stones is incredible. The documentary is terrific but it is one interview after another from people Annie has photographed. Talk about a list of heavy hitters. Heads of state, rock legends, actors, actresses. It’s a Who’s Who in the history of the world since the late 1960s. Incredible. Not surprisingly, you learn some things about yourself when you see something like this. According  to everyone interviewed, Annie’s ability to set everyone at ease while still command a room might have been her greatest quality. It seems she should blend in but still get her subjects to do what she needed.

Enough rambling, let’s talk about engagement photos and Ellen and John, out latest victims … err…  clients. We did their photos at Ricketts Glen State Park and had just a wonderful time getting to know them better and grabbing some shots. It’s amazing to watch people in front of a camera. There is a little bit of uncertainty at the beginning that is totally understandable, but what’s really exciting is watching it melt away as the day goes on – almost to the point that they forget they are there for photos. Ellen and John were great to work with and more importantly fun to hang out with it. Here are a few pics.
