Jen and Joe wedding ceremony in Wilkes-Barre

Sometimes churches can all look the same. It’s just the nature of churches. There’s some stained glass, nice wood, iffy light (at least from a photographer’s perspective) and maybe a balcony.

On the surface, St. Mary’s in Wilkes-Barre might appear to be just that, another really nice church but nothing that jumps out. That was until we shot Jen and Joe’s wedding a couple of weeks ago. The place was like a candy store for chocolate addicts. First, the light was incredible. Just the amount of sunlight that poured into the church was amazing. The real treat was the amazing wraparound balcony.  I’m sure parishioners love it for the extra seating. We loved it for the really different perspectives we could get when shooting the wedding. For this post, we decided to do the photos in black and white just because.

Thanks again to Jen and Joe for letting us into the “family.” We love you guys.
