So the only thing I know about the Catskills is it’s pretty close to Northeastern Pennsylvania and I think it’s where “Dirty Dancing” was set. Wait, I also know you don’t put baby in a corner. But that’s really all I know. So when my wife said she was taking our daughter Sophie up to a time share in the Catskills for a few days of vacation the only thing I could picture were sweaty dancers holding keggers and cute 0ld people stealing wallets. Yeah, I’ve seen the movie a couple of times so shoot me.
I was able to break away from work for a day to head up and see what it was all about. It’s not actually that far from the what I envisioned. There are family activities everywhere, friendly staff, dance lessons, a pool every 10 feet. It’s more modern that I expected but it maintains the family feel you might expect. Before we had our daughter, it would not be our scene at all. Now, the more kid-friendly things there are the better.
So here are a few shameless shots of the family vacation. Really, they are just photos of my daughter having a good time. The only thing I regret is not getting a shot of baby in a corner. Next time. Definitely!
