There are a lot of places I like to shoot. We’ve talked about them before. There are certain churches that are beautiful. Some wedding reception venues are amazing. But there is an understated place that almost never fails. Salons.
A lot of brides will ask us to spend a little time in the salon with the bridal party as they get their hair and makeup done. First, it’s a good idea to get these photos because it’s a relaxed way to kick off the day. Second, I swear all stylists and makeup artists have the soul of a photographer because the light in these places is always great. I get it. I know it’s great for them to work in good light. I gotta tell you, we really benefit from it.
I spent quite a bit of time last month in a salon before Victoria’s wedding. It was awesome. First, Victoria is incredible. She was so relaxed and fun it made everything really easy. Plus, the girls at Finale on Main Ave. in West Side in Scranton were so accommodating and did such beautiful work it made for the perfect way to start a day.
