Heather and Michael wedding | Scranton wedding photographers

Weather can be a crapshoot at weddings – especially outdoor ones. I don’t worry about it too much because you need to be nimble in this job anyway so it’s just another opportunity. But not matter how sunny my disposition is about getting photos in all types of weather, you can’t ignore that a lot of planning goes into a wedding and you want the bride and groom to have the best of everything. So on Saturday, I looked at the sky a lot. I felt the breeze freshen on my face. There was not going to be a whole lot of time. With any luck, Heather and Michael would get the ceremony in and probably not much else. Portraits outside were probably out the window. But it just had to work out for them. I mean they had a location on top of a mountain at Quarry Hill Farm. The setting was perfect, the planning impeccable, and they’re such wonderful people they deserved to have the wedding they envisioned.

And they did. Threatening skies stayed that way. Mother Nature even gave us a half hour window for some portraits against a backdrop you can only dream of having. So we wanted to share some of the after-ceremony photos we grabbed before heading into the safety of the reception and away from the rain that came soon after.  By the way, you know how I mentioned opportunity? Check out the last shot in the series. It’s from the reception. Took only a minute to do and was done while the rain dumped outside.

Thanks Heather and Mike for letting us into your lives and making us feel like family.

Mia - I just had to leave a comment here because I am blown away by how well you’ve managed to capture the spirit of this day with only a few pictures and 2 paragraphs so far! Chad, through my brief interactions with you that day I can say that you seemed like an absolute pleasure to work. Looking forward to seeing the rest!ReplyCancel
