Two Sticks Studios – Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Poconos Wedding Photographers » Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Poconos Wedding Photography, Senior Photography and Portrait Photography

Not too long ago, we introduced the idea of videos for high school seniors. They’re a mix of photos and video clips from their senior shoot. The response so far has been unbelievable. The latest – which you can see below – goes to a whole new level, primarily because it was done on ice. It was another senior shoot for a member of the Junior Penguins. I don’t want to say we are becoming the official photographers of the Junior Pens but if this keeps up … Seriously, these are a great bunch of people who are super dedicating to hockey. You would not believe the lengths the kids and parents go to to make sure they are at all of the practices and games.  The dedication is unreal.

Anyway, the latest video is of Jonathon. I met with his mom at the practice facility to show her the photos and videos. The reaction was so nice. Michele the mom and driver of the van (she’ll get that joke) loved the photos and videos and did the nicest thing. She kept calling parents and anyone else she could find to come over and watch the video. It’s just such a cool thing to watch people react to something like this and it makes you feel great when everyone has such great things to say. Plus, I always like picking up some new friends.

So here’s the video. Enjoy. We’ll probably have some wedding shots for you later in the week.

Weddings are expensive. I know, that’s a real shocker to any brides or brides to be out there reading this post. “Yeah, expensive. How about really @$%^&*@ expensive.” The venue, the flowers, the food and yes the photography. It costs a lot. But what if there was a way to ease the pain? What if there was a simple way?  Here’s the deal. Everyone you invite to your wedding is going to get you a wedding gift. Sometimes it’s cash.
Sometimes it’s a blender you want or maybe one you don’t.  That’s why you register for gifts. It’s a way of ensuring you start your new life together with some of the things you will need and some of the things you want.

What if you had a little help with the wedding costs? What if someone could pay for all or a portion of your wedding album, your DVD of images or maybe some prints for your home. There is no reason the cost of your wedding should fall entirely on you and your family. With that in mind, Bob and I would like to invite you to invite your wedding guests to register with two sticks studios. All they have top do is drop us an email and will will take care of the rest.

Congratulations Katie and Phil! I was so happy to be a part of your wedding day. It’s an honor to be able to preserve the memories of a couple’s wedding, but its even better when I can do it for close friends. After a “slight” delay, and Phil sweating it out a bit, the ceremony was perfect.

All week long the forecast was calling for rain for most of the wedding day. But once the ceremony started, the skies cleared and the rain was gone. Here’s some photos from beautiful St. Paul’s church in Scranton. I’ll actually be right back here this weekend for Maura and Jesse’s wedding. Can’t wait!

I think I like being the hockey photographer. We just did some senior photos for Jonathon  and what I once thought of as a pretty offbeat location has become a home away from home for us. We did his photos at the Coal Street Ice Complex in Wilkes-Barre.  Jonathon is a Junior Penguin and the third Junior Pen we have shot in the past couple of years. We absolutely love it. Shooting seniors in hockey gear just makes for great photos and I’m starting to get the hang of staying upright on the ice. I took a nasty spill last year on some fresh ice. It happened so fast! The only thing that really got bruised – other than the lens of my camera – was my ego. Happily the Zamboni was coming after our senior shoot this year. Thank goodness. The ice is much easier to manage when it’s a little scarred by skaters and not brought to a glossy finish.

Once again, we are really happy with how the photos turned out. You have to work very quickly when doing these photos. Ice time is at a premium. And thanks to Jonathon and his mom for inviting us to do these photos.

I apologize in advance. We are going back-to-back blog posts with photos of our kids. Bob got around to doing some photos of his family’s vacation and some hilarious mustache pictures last week. Well my daughter, Sophie, just turned 3 and we had a party on Saturday. The house was pretty packed and getting photos was not nearly as easy as I expected. Anyway, there are a few good ones. You will notice in a few shots, my daughter is diving at the camera. She doesn’t always like having her photo taken – especially if it’s getting in the way of cupcakes or a good time.

The party was great thanks to Sophie’s friends who came over. You guys were awesome and Wendy and I really appreciate you helping celebrate her birthday. We’ll do it again next year!

By the way, the last shot is the hangover. How do you beat a hangover? A little hair of the dog that bit ya.  Cupcake and birthday hat will set you right kid. Yeah!

This post started as an idea to look back at what a great summer we had in Northeast PA. I think I can safely say summer has passed now that we have had what feels like 9 weeks of constant rain. Once I started going through photos, it just turned into another excuse to post photos of my stinkin’ adorable kids –  specifically from our trip to Wildwood about a month ago.

We stayed in a hotel room with my sister-in-law and her future husband (can’t wait for the New Year’s wedding!) and my mother- and father-in-law. To some people this might not seem like a vacation. But it was great. We were on vacation with built in babysitters! I kinda felt bad for everyone else since Steph and I were the ones who brought the crazy kids. Well, the vacation was a blast, and we have some great memories and photos to prove it.

And thanks to the Frogger game for enough tickets to get us some fake mustaches. If there was a career in just taking pictures of kids wearing fake mustaches, I’m pretty sure I could live a very happy life doing that. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE TO OTHER PARENTS: Make the mustache a little less sticky before you press it onto a three-year-old. The whole rip-it-right-off-like-a-band-aid technique didn’t seem to work too well when Eliza looked at me like I just punched her in the face! Anyway, on to the pics.
