So we have had the idea for a little while now that it would be an amazing opportunity to be able to capture the first step in the wedding process: the proposal. I was honored that the first person I was able to do this for was my cousin Nicole’s boyfriend (now fiance) Stan. He had the guts to propose during Easter dinner – in front of the ENTIRE family.

Knowing how nosy my wife is and how no one in her family can keep a secret, Stan let me know the day before it was going down. I received a message on Facebook simply saying that if I was going to be at Easter dinner, I may want to bring my camera. I immediately knew what he meant.

Seeing as how Easter dinner included about 50 extended family members in one house, there was little private time to hear Stan’s plan, so I basically kept one eye on his every move all day. I’m pretty sure I was actually more nervous than he was. Not so much for the proposal, but for the punch from my wife that I was going to get when she realized I knew and didn’t tell her. Finally, I saw the move: Stan pulled Nicole outside to give her her Easter basket. I started snapping away from inside the glass doors while slowly being surrounded by the other 50 people there as they realized what was happening.

Inside an egg, inside an egg, inside an egg was the ring. She said yes. No more words are needed. Congratulations to Stan and Nicole!

We are screaming toward the busy season. Naturally, that got me thinking about what I’m most looking forward to. So I put together what was going to be a Top 5 list. Of course, I ended up with with 9 things. It’s my list I can do what I want.

1. Engagement sessions, especially at stunning locations. The first is going to be at the Scranton Lace Factory. Unbelievable spot!!!!!! Photos are going to be so unique.  Just can’t wait.

2. Bringing on another photographer to help out. We might spread the love a little during wedding season by inviting another shooter to a wedding or two to help them learn the ropes and get experience. That has to be good karma.

3. More high school seniors in photos unlike what we usually see here in NEPA. There will be more on this later but we’re taking senior photos up a notch to give kids and parents different choices.

4. Spending money at Adorama. WE WON OUR VIDEO CONTEST. So for all of you that voted for us. Thank you very much!. We appreciate it!!! You guys are the best.

5. More weddings. If you’re not having fun at a wedding. Check for a pulse.

6. Getting better at what I do. Every time I ipck up a camera I try to learn something new and get just a little bit better as a photographer.

7. A bride who wants to totally trash her dress the day after the wedding. Waiting!

8. Making more friends. Nothing brings people closer together than a wedding. We always meet amazing people and walk away with some new friends.

9. Seeing the babies of couples whose weddings we shot. You know who you are.

A few weeks ago, we were lucky enough to be a part of a fundraiser for the Lackawanna Branch of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind. Through Small Frye’s Boutique in Scranton, my daughter, Eliza, got to participate in the 83rd annual Helen Keller Day fashion show for the association with some of her friends.

Sisters, Clare and Grace, and brother and sister, Alex and Sasha, were loving the spotlight and probably could have spent all day up on stage. Eliza is pretty shy, and I was lucky to get a wave out of her. But she was so proud that she did a good job and it was a great event for a great cause.

Here’s a couple photos from the show.

Hi everybody and welcome to our shameless Easter blog – done entirely to give us an excuse to show off some pictures of our daughters. Really, I’d like to have some higher purpose but really this is about two cute girl chasing down Easter eggs and putting bunny ears on Eeyore. At least in my case, it was also about Teddy Grahams, plastic eggs and discovering that my daughter does not like the taste of M&Ms but loves the distance she can get when she throws them.

Hope everybody had a great holiday.

Hi everybody. Not long ago, we did a post about it being time to start planning and scheduling your senior photos. Most soon-to-be seniors get them taken over the summer and that means planning now.

So to give everybody a leg up – and maybe a little incentive to get started –  Bob and I are launching a spring and summer senior photo campaign with all kids of great discounts. In fact, if you book by the end of May you can save 50 percent on your senior session. All you have to do to get started is give us a call. Bob: 470-9003 and Chad: 909-8517.

What can be better, you say. Well, the photos. These are not your mom’s senior photos. If you’re thinking of poses by artificial waterfalls or maybe a nice closeup with your head resting on folded hands, think again. We’re talking about edgy, fun and classic shots in a session that is a lot like a professional modeling shoot. You get the full attention of two photographers, and you get to do it at the location or locations of your choice. This is the way senior photos were meant to be done. They’re too important to trust to just anyone so give us a call and we can talk about the best way to handle your photos to give you images you’ll love forever.

I almost forgot. We are also launching  a competitive ambassador program. In short, you have the chance to have all of your photos done for free. You can save more than $1,000. Call us to find out how to apply.

We can’t wait to hear from you. Oh and here’s a look at one of the direct mailers we’ll be sending out soon.
